There are many Indian & Pakistani dishes that are healthy as well as delicious. Some curries made of vegetables are always liked in almost every household in the Indian subcontinent. Aloo Methi curry is one of them. “Aloo” is Urdu for potato, while “Methy” means Fenugreek leaves. The aroma of methi makes you feel hungry we can bet for. You can spice up your dinners with this dish as it is very easy to prepare. Following is the recipe for this dish Aloo Methi with a step-by-step guide to getting it ready.


  • Potatoes 5 medium-sized
  • Vegetable oil – three oil spoons
  • Dried Methi one pack
  • Garlic
  • Tomatoes
  • Green chilies
  • Salt, red chilies, coriander powder, turmeric
  • Garam masala


       Step-by-step guide

  • Soak dried methi leaves for 30 minutes
  • Peel and cut potatoes into small pieces
  • Cut two average size onions and add them to a pressure cooker
  • Add Garlic, Ginger to the pressure cooker
  • Add 2-4 big spoons of oil to the pressure cooker





  • Brown them
  • Add 2 tomatoes
  • Add green chilies
  • Add methi now to the pressure cooker
  • Add two teaspoons of salt, one spoon of red chilies, 2 spoons of coriander powder, half a spoon of turmeric
  • Add soaked methi now
  • Add two glasses of water
  • Pressure cook for 5 minutes on low flame
  • Blend it with an electric blender
  • Now add potatoes and fry to let go smell of potatoes
  • Add 1.5 glasses of water
  • Pressure cook for 2to 3 minutes
  • Now let it cook on the medium burner until the water dries and the oil becomes visible
  • In the end, add some cumin, garam masala, and green coriander
  • The dish is ready to be served
